PUK spokesman Karwan Gaznayi said on Thursday, September 25, 2025, that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) will form a new government in the near future.
This comes more than 11 months after the elections, during which no new cabinet has yet been formed. The PUK has reportedly agreed to allow Masrour Barzani to continue as prime minister, while the party will take the post of deputy prime minister.
