The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Natural Resources announced on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, that it has fulfilled all obligations required to resume oil exports in coordination with Iraq’s Federal Oil Ministry.
The ministry said that agreements have been signed with all domestic and foreign companies, except for one international firm that has yet to complete the process. An official letter was sent to the Federal Oil Ministry on November 23, and the KRG is now awaiting a response to finalize the agreement, allowing SOMO to restart oil exports as soon as possible.
