Outgoing Prime Minister Masrour Barzani said oil exports from the Kurdistan Region should resume and the federal government must send salaries and financial entitlements.
Barzani made the remarks during a meeting with representatives of the US Embassy in Iraq on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, where both sides emphasized the Kurdistan Region’s role as a strategic partner of the United States in the region.
The meeting also underscored the need to accelerate the resumption of oil exports and ensure the transfer of salaries to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
Earlier, the new generation movement criticized the outgoing cabinet, saying it only uses agreements with Baghdad as election rhetoric and has no intention of implementing them.
