The spokesman for the outgoing Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Peshawa Hawramany, announced on Monday that the long-anticipated tripartite agreement between the Kurdistan Region, Baghdad, and oil companies will be signed today.
Speaking to KDP-affiliated media, Hawramany said the signing of the agreement will remove any obstacles to the transfer of salaries, stressing that the federal government must send the salaries of KRG employees without delay. "With the signing of this agreement, there will be no obstacles, and Baghdad must begin sending salaries as soon as possible,” he stated.
The KRG and Baghdad have previously reached five separate agreements on oil deliveries in less than three years. However, the outgoing government has failed to comply with any of them and has not delivered a single barrel of oil to the federal government.
