A senior source in the Iraqi Oil Ministry told NRT on Monday that the Kurdistan Region and oil companies have expressed readiness to resume exports, with the Ministry agreeing to pay their dues in crude oil instead of financial entitlements. The final decision on whether the Kurdistan Region is in compliance with the agreement will be made tomorrow.

The source added that a trilateral meeting was held between the Northern Oil Company and delegations from Erbil and Baghdad, where export arrangements were discussed.

Separately, a source in the Northern Oil Company, based in Kirkuk, revealed that the company has a station in Duhok intended to connect the oil flows to Iraq’s network, requiring coordination with Erbil to move forward.

According to the officials, if the Kurdistan Region complies with the agreements, the Iraqi Council of Ministers will decide on Tuesday to release the seventh month’s salaries. However, they cautioned that the Region has a history of announcing agreements before elections only to withdraw from them afterward, which has fueled mistrust in Baghdad.
