Iraq’s non-oil revenues have reached 14 percent of the country’s total revenues, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Sudani said on Monday, stressing the government’s strategy to reduce dependence on oil.
"We have announced our vision for this year and we plan to eliminate reliance on a sole source of income and no longer have only oil as our financial source,” Sudani stated.
He explained that non-oil revenues have doubled in recent years, increasing from 7% in 2022 to 14% in 2024, with plans to reach 20% as outlined in the three-year budget law.
