The Iraqi Prime Minister’s office announced Thursday that Mohammed Shia al-Sudani met with Jeff Miller, Chairman and CEO of Halliburton, along with his delegation. During the meeting, the two sides discussed expanding cooperation in oilfield development and energy technology.

Sudani called on Halliburton to expand its service centers across Iraq to cover various engineering specialties, establish a research center to support technological advances in excavation and soil improvement, and launch a training center to enhance local workforce skills. He also emphasized the importance of localizing industries by manufacturing oil drilling equipment and submarine pumps inside Iraq.

Miller expressed appreciation for the government’s support and reaffirmed Halliburton’s readiness to sign development contracts with the Iraqi Oil Ministry for the Bin Omar and Sindbad fields in Basra.
