A source in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) told NRT on Sunday that preparations for resuming oil exports from the Kurdistan Region have begun, with some oil warehouses having been cleaned and readied over the past three days.
The source, speaking on behalf of the KRG Ministry of Natural Resources, confirmed that all relevant companies have been informed that exports will soon resume. Preparations, including washing of warehouses at the refinery, reportedly began on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company (SOMO) announced on Tuesday that it has canceled all contracts with oil production companies in the Kurdistan Region and is ready to receive the oil once exports resume.
