A source in the Iraqi Oil Ministry told NRT on Sunday that the ministry is ready to resume oil exports from the Kurdistan Region. The ministry is awaiting a tripartite meeting involving representatives of the Iraqi government, oil companies, and the Kurdistan Region to finalize discussions on the issue.

According to a source in the Iraqi government, if the outcome of the tripartite meeting is approved by the Iraqi Council of Ministers, oil exports from the Kurdistan Region could resume within 24 hours.

Officials indicated that the resumption of oil exports is closely linked to resolving the salary crisis in the Kurdistan Region. "If the tripartite meeting is successful and approved by the Council of Ministers, oil exports will resume and the salary problem will be solved, as oil revenue is key to funding salaries in the region,” the source said.

The developments come amid growing concern over unpaid salaries and the financial stability of the Kurdistan Region, which has been waiting for Baghdad’s approval to implement prior agreements.
