A massive fire broke out in the village of Baraw in Sharbazher, destroying around 20 acres of forests and gardens.
The Sulaimanyah Forest and Environment Police announced Tuesday, October 7, 2025, that the fire was brought under control by the Sitak and Barzanja Forest Police Stations and the Sitak Civil Defense Team. According to preliminary assessments, approximately 20 acres of natural forestland, as well as several gardens and fields belonging to citizens, were burned.
Authorities said investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
