The first oil tanker carrying 700,000 barrels of crude from the Kurdistan Region is scheduled to depart from Turkey’s Ceyhan port tomorrow, Al-Sharq al-Awsat reported Wednesday.

According to the newspaper, the tanker Valesina has been prepared to ship the Kurdistan Region’s crude to global markets. Earlier, Iraqi Oil Ministry Secretary Bassem Mohammed said that the handover of Kurdistan Region oil will raise Iraq’s total exports to 3.6 million barrels per day.

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has recently been delivering 150,000 to 160,000 barrels of oil daily to Baghdad.
