The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) announced that it will conduct an experimental voting process on Wednesday to test all electronic devices ahead of the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections.
IHEC spokeswoman Jumana Ghalai said the test will cover result transmission, voter verification, and result acceleration devices, as well as the surveillance cameras installed at polling stations. The trial will take place in 21 polling stations across various election offices, including a VIP station and a displaced voters’ station at the national office, along with several polling centers in Karkh, Erbil, Basra, and other provinces.
Ghalai added that journalists covering the elections may coordinate directly with election offices for access and reporting.
