A source in the Ministry of Finance of the outgoing government told NRT that domestic revenue funds for August and September are ready, awaiting a decision to be transferred.
The source said on Monday, October 6, 2025, that all necessary procedures to send the funds have been completed. However, the administrations of Erbil, Duhok, and Sulaimanyah must first decide to hand over the domestic revenues to the Ministry of Finance. The final decision to transfer the funds to Baghdad will then be made by the prime minister and his deputy.
Earlier, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani stated that salaries for the Kurdistan Region will be sent once the domestic revenues are handed over.
