A delegation from the British Consulate General visited the New Generation Movement in Sulaimanyah to discuss the political situation, the treatment of its leader by PUK security forces in court, and the resumption of oil exports.
Arian Taugozi, a member of the Iraqi parliament, said on Monday that the delegation and the New Generation Movement also discussed the imprisonment and court treatment of the movement’s leader, as well as the broader role of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the PUK.
The delegation expressed concern over the situation. Other topics discussed included oil, salaries, elections, and preparations for the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections, with the New Generation Movement affirming its readiness to participate.
