Iraqi Oil Minister Hayyan Abdul Ghani told Iraqi media on Sunday that they are committed to increasing oil production in the Kurdistan Region. According to the agreement, 250,000 to 260,000 barrels of oil will be produced daily, of which 50,000 barrels will be allocated for domestic consumption and the rest delivered to SOMO.

After two and a half years of suspension, oil exports from the Kurdistan Region through SOMO to the Turkish port of Ceyhan resumed on Saturday. Meanwhile, the outgoing government said the oil delivery agreement is limited to three months, using it as an election campaign achievement. After the elections, salaries may again face delays and uncertainty.
