Chamchamal police reported on Thursday that a young child was rescued from a closed vehicle in the city’s market area after being left unattended by their family.
According to the traffic directorate, the family had parked their car and left the child inside with all the windows shut and the doors locked. Market visitors and passersby raised the alarm when they noticed the child in distress.
Traffic officers made several announcements in the market, attempting to locate the vehicle’s owner. When no one came forward, a team of officers was forced to break the car’s windshield to rescue the child. The child was safely taken out and given immediate assistance.
Authorities have urged families to avoid leaving children alone in vehicles under any circumstances due to the extreme risk of suffocation, especially in hot weather.
