The Iraqi General Customs Board (IGCB) said Monday that customs revenues for this year have exceeded 2.4 trillion dinars, marking one of the highest totals in recent years.

Samer Qassim, Chairman of the IGCB, stated that this accomplishment is a direct result of the continuous support and directives of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani particularly in combating corruption through administrative reforms, enhanced monitoring, and organizational "cleaning” measures at all border points.

He added that the IGCB’s investigation and anti smuggling department has played a crucial role over the past months in preventing smuggling attempts and tackling customs evasion. These efforts, Qassim noted, have directly contributed to increasing revenues and ensuring that imported goods enter the country according to the law and established regulations.
