The Kurdistan Regional Meteorological Agency announced on Sunday, December 7, 2025, that rainfall has already begun in several areas and will intensify starting tomorrow, eventually covering all parts of the Kurdistan Region. According to the agency, temperatures are expected to drop significantly, reaching between 4°C and 6°C in mountainous regions and around eight degrees in other areas.
Authorities across all provinces and autonomous administrations have prepared for the possibility of flooding. Citizens have been advised to stay away from mountainous and unstable areas, avoid unnecessary travel, and remain at home during periods of heavy rain.
In the past 24 hours, the Amedi and Kani Mase districts recorded 16 mm of rainfall, and meteorologists warn that precipitation will continue to increase throughout the coming days.
