The Election Judicial Board (EJB) has completed the review of all appeals filed against the results of the Iraqi parliamentary elections and is expected to send the finalized results to the Federal Supreme Court today.
The Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council said in a statement on Sunday that the electoral judiciary had examined every appeal submitted regarding the election outcomes. According to the statement, resolving these appeals represents the final legal step before transferring the results to Baghdad.
In line with established legal procedures, once the judiciary completes its work, the Electoral Commission will forward the final results to the Federal Supreme Court for ratification.
A total of 853 appeals were submitted and have now been resolved. The results will be officially sent to the Federal Court for final approval.
After the Federal Court ratifies the results, the newly elected Iraqi parliament will hold its first session, paving the way for the formation of a new government.
