Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Sudani wrote that he has been committed to building a friendship that serves Iraq, noting that from the beginning he understood that friendship, not hostility, is what brings stability, development, and prosperity to the country.
Sudani said: "Since taking office, I have been committed to building a friendship that serves Iraq. I have understood from the beginning that friendship will bring stability, development, and prosperity to our country.”
For his part, US President Donald Trump said: "The Iraqi prime minister is my friend and one of the people who nominated me for the Nobel Peace Prize.”
Trump added that he was surprised by Sudani’s decision and did not expect such a gesture from Iraq.
