A heavy wave of rain has covered all parts of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq on Tuesday, December 8, 2025.
According to meteorological data, 15.8 mm of rain fell in Sulaimanyah in the last 24 hours, bringing total rainfall for this year to 74.8 mm, compared to 140.3 mm during the same period last year.
The Kurdistan Regional Meteorological Agency announced that the rain wave will continue until early next week.
Authorities across all provinces and autonomous administrations have prepared for potential flooding, urging citizens to avoid mountainous areas and remain indoors when possible.
