The Iraqi Independent High Election Commission (IHEC) announced Wednesday that the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections will be released today after the successful and peaceful completion of both the general and special voting processes.
According to the commission, results have been received from 99.7% of polling stations. Out of 20,063,733 registered voters, 10,898,327 citizens cast their ballots, marking a nationwide turnout of 55%.
The total number of eligible voters across Iraq was 21,404,291, and according to IHEC, 12,003,143 voters participated in the general and special elections, with an 82.5% turnout among special voters.
