The Kurdistan Regional Meteorological Agency (KRKMA) has forecast a slight drop in temperatures in some areas, though the ongoing heatwave is expected to continue across Iraq for the next 8 to 10 days.
According to the agency’s report for Tuesday, August 5, 2025, skies will be partly to mostly cloudy in the Kurdistan Region, with moderate winds expected in the afternoon. Despite the slight cloud cover, temperatures remain high, particularly in Garmian, where it is expected to reach 46°C.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi national forecast warns of a continued rise in temperatures across the central and southern regions, accompanied by increased humidity.
