The new generation movement officially launched its campaign for the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections on Saturday with an unpublished recorded speech by its detained leader, Shaswar Abdulwahid Qadir.

In his message from prison, Abdulwahid sent his greetings to the Kurdish people and reaffirmed his commitment to defending citizens’ rights.
"Whether in prison or outside, I will defend the people to my last breath,” he said, emphasizing that his imprisonment was the result of "telling the truth and defending people’s rights.”

He declared that the movement is stronger than ever in its opposition to what he described as the oppression of the current regime. "We are in prison but braver than ever,” he said.

Abdulwahid outlined his party’s plans to participate in the Iraqi government to address the people’s problems, calling on citizens to vote on November 11.
"Vote for us on 11/11 and we will solve the salary problem,” he said. "Vote for us and we will provide marriage loans from Iraqi banks for young people.”

He warned that if voters do not participate, the situation will deteriorate further. "The only way to get people out of this situation is to vote,” he stated, calling the November election "the last chance for citizens to take revenge on the PUK and KDP.”

Abdulwahid criticized the ruling parties, saying the outgoing prime minister’s visits to Baghdad have achieved nothing, and that "the PUK and KDP are not counted in Baghdad.” He stressed that New Generation Movement has "brought oil and medicine to Baghdad without having a post.”

He urged people not to be deceived by temporary salary payments before elections. "Every election they pay a couple of salaries. I ask people not to believe them,” he said.

Concluding his message, Abdulwahid said, "If I had compromised with the authorities, I would not have been in prison. I am sure the Kurdish people will not forget why I am in prison.”
