The distribution of kerosene has begun across several Iraqi provinces, with citizens set to receive 100 liters each at a price of 15,000 dinars.
Iraqi media reported on Sunday that kerosene distribution started in the provinces of Nineveh, Kirkuk, Anbar, and Salahaddin. The move comes as part of the government’s seasonal fuel support program to help households prepare for the winter.
Meanwhile, according to local officials in Halabja, the price of kerosene will remain unchanged from previous years, with each barrel sold to citizens for 104,000 dinars.
The Iraqi government allocates around 50,000 barrels of oil daily to the Kurdistan Region for domestic consumption. However, citizens in the region have complained that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) divert these supplies to private companies, which then sell the oil at inflated prices.
