Barzani’s headquarters issued a strong statement on Thursday, November 27, 2025, condemning the latest attack on the Kormor gas field. The statement described the incident as a terrorist act targeting the economic infrastructure and vital interests of both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq as a whole.
According to the headquarters, the attack is not only against the region’s energy facilities but also against the wellbeing and interests of all citizens who rely on stable gas and electricity supplies. They emphasized that although similar unjust attacks have been condemned many times previously, condemnation alone has not led to any meaningful action against the perpetrators.
The statement stressed that "it is time to take serious and practical steps against these unjust violations and attacks and punish the perpetrators.” Barzani’s headquarters urged relevant authorities to implement firm measures to prevent future incidents and ensure accountability for those responsible.
