According to Meta, more than $1.4 million has been spent on campaign sponsorships in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region during 30 days of the election period.
Between September 24 and October 23, 2025, Iraqi and Kurdistan political parties and candidates spent a total of $1,424,963 to promote their campaigns on Facebook and Instagram, according to Meta’s advertising data.
Baghdad ranked first in spending with over $342,000, while Halabja province ranked last with less than $4,000.
Meanwhile, $81,458 was spent on sponsored ads in Sulaimanyah province, which ranked third, followed by Erbil with $72,570 in campaign spending.
