The General Directorate of Health in Sulaimanyah announced that 16,379 children were examined in the day and consultative departments of Dr. Jamal Ahmad Rashid Teaching Children’s Hospital during the month of September.
According to the statistics released by the Directorate, between September 1 and 30, 2025, the hospital recorded 1,594 cases of nausea, vomiting, and dehydration, as well as 185 cases of shortness of breath.
During the same period, 485 children were treated in the radiology and neurology departments, 155 in the malnutrition department, 169 in the nutritional therapy training department, and 113 in the digestive and liver departments.
Additionally, 17,411 laboratory tests, 478 ultrasound scans, 125 echocardiograms, 29 catheterizations, and 485 x-rays were conducted.
Health officials noted that with the arrival of the autumn season and changing weather conditions, the spread of seasonal illnesses among citizens particularly children has increased significantly.
