The Iraqi Customs Board has announced a significant rise in the country’s customs revenue, reporting a 150 percent increase year-on-year, the highest since 2003.
The board said Thursday that the customs advance notification system will be launched in December. This system aims to regulate imports, enhance efficiency, and combat currency smuggling across Iraq.
Officials added that efforts are underway to simplify and standardize procedures at all customs centers. Enhanced border surveillance and anti-corruption measures are also being implemented to ensure transparency and effectiveness in customs operations.
