A member of the Iraqi Parliament’s Oil and Gas Committee said Wednesday that gas production will begin in all Iraqi oil fields, with the goal of achieving national self-sufficiency in natural gas.
Committee member Nazim Shibli stated that the government is intensifying efforts to enhance national energy security, which will also boost the country’s electricity generation capacity. Experts believe Iraq has the potential to increase its gas production fivefold in the coming years.
