The financial adviser to Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani confirmed on Wednesday that salaries for Iraqi employees, pensioners, and social security beneficiaries for 2026 have been fully secured, assuring there will be no payment issues next year.
He added that preparation of the 2026 federal budget began in July and will be submitted to the Iraqi parliament upon completion. Earlier, Finance Committee member Muin al-Kazemi also confirmed that salaries across Iraqi ministries will be paid on time without delays.
