Nine months after the incident, the Erbil Criminal Court has sentenced Dr. Sirwan to death and life imprisonment for killing his wife and three of her family members in Erbil.
According to the court’s decision, Dr. Sirwan was sentenced to death for the murder of his mother-in-law and father-in-law. He also received two life sentences for killing his wife and her sister.
The crime took place on March 13, when Dr. Sirwan entered his in-laws’ home with a weapon and killed four people.
The court said the ruling was issued based on the evidence and legal procedures followed during the investigation.
