Norwegian oil company DNO, which operates both the Tawke and Peshkabir fields, announced that drilling operations will resume next week with the start of a new production well in the Tawke field after a two-and-a-half-year pause.
DNO said Thursday that it plans to drill eight new oil wells by 2026, which will increase total production by 25 percent to reach 100,000 barrels per day.
The company added that despite the suspension of new drilling following the closure of the export pipeline in 2023 and the resulting decline in revenue, it has continued to produce 80,000 barrels of oil per day.
