The director of Sulaimanyah Children’s Hospital told NRT that more than 10,000 people have visited the hospital over the past 15 days due to the seasonal epidemic.
Koyan Zahir, the hospital director, said Sunday that more than 1,500 children have been admitted during this period, while a total of 10,731 people sought medical care.
He added that the outbreak is not dangerous and no children have died directly from it. The main symptoms are fever and cough, but the surge in cases has put significant pressure on the hospital.
