The Iraqi Independent High Election Commission (IHEC) announced on Saturday that it had received 102 complaints concerning the two days of voting in the Iraqi parliamentary elections.

In a statement, the Commission said the number of complaints regarding general voting had reached 59, while the number of complaints concerning special voting — which includes security forces, hospital patients, and detainees — had reached 43.

According to the Commission, the Complaints and Appeals Department has already begun reviewing and classifying all submitted cases.

"The majority of complaints are yellow complaints, with only a small number categorized as green,” the statement said.

IHEC explained that:

  • Yellow complaints are those that do not meet the legal or procedural requirements and are therefore rejected immediately.
  • Green complaints indicate actual violations, but based on current assessments, none of the complaints will affect or alter the final results of the Iraqi parliamentary elections.

The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and stressed that all complaints will be addressed within the legal timeframe.
