Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Sudani is expected to visit the Kurdistan Region in two days to meet with officials and discuss the formation of the new Iraqi government, as well as unresolved issues between Erbil and Baghdad including salaries. His visit comes as his coalition won the recent elections and seeks to retain the premiership for another term, while other Shiite parties led by Nuri al-Maliki insist the position should be theirs.
