Omar Ali, the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Communist Party (KCP) and a former member of the Political Bureau of the Iraqi Communist Party, passed away this morning in Erbil at the age of 99.
Born in 1926, Omar Ali joined the Iraqi Communist Party in 1946. In 1948, he participated in the Students Congress in Saba’, Baghdad, and was a founding member of the General Union of Students in Iraq.
