The Kurdistan Regional Meteorological and Seismological Agency has announced the total rainfall recorded across the Kurdistan Region of Iraq over the past 24 hours.
According to the General Directorate of Meteorology, the data covers rainfall totals recorded from 9:00 a.m. yesterday until 9:00 a.m. today, showing significant variation between provinces and districts.
In Sulaimanyah province, the highest rainfall was recorded in Yakhsamar township with 132 millimeters, followed by Sayed Sadiq with 115 millimeters and Chwarta with 109 millimeters. Qaladze recorded 94 millimeters, Chawarqurna 83 millimeters, Bazian 72 millimeters, Sangao 66 millimeters, Chamchamal 60 millimeters, Karadag 53 millimeters, Halsho 48 millimeters, and both Qarahanjeer and the Sulaimanyah provincial center recorded 38 millimeters. Taq Taq recorded 36 millimeters, while Darbandikhan recorded 9 millimeters. No rainfall was recorded at the Dukan, Mawat, and Penjwen stations.
In Duhok province, Dinarta recorded 120 millimeters of rainfall, Bjil 83 millimeters, Chamanke and Zaweta 76 millimeters each, Sheladze 68 millimeters, Batifa 56 millimeters, Deraluk 55 millimeters, Sarsang 50 millimeters, Mangesh 40 millimeters, Qasrok 37 millimeters, Amedi 35 millimeters, Zakho and Ba’adre 33 millimeters each, Girdasen 32 millimeters, and the Duhok provincial center 28 millimeters. Lower amounts were recorded in Sheikhan with 20 millimeters, Bardarash with 15 millimeters, and Simmel with 9 millimeters.
In Erbil province, Mergasur recorded 124 millimeters of rainfall, Nazanin 107 millimeters, Shaqlawa 100 millimeters, Barzan and Khalifan 82 millimeters each, and Erbil city center 70 millimeters. Rawandz recorded 66 millimeters, Hiran 63 millimeters, Choman 62 millimeters, Pirmam 52 millimeters, Soran 45 millimeters, and both Gomaspan Dam and Dosti Dam recorded 41 millimeters. Sedakan recorded 40 millimeters, Shamamk 32 millimeters, Khabat 16 millimeters, and Haji Omeran 1.2 millimeters. No rainfall was recorded at the Koya and Dibaga stations.
In Kirkuk province, Takya Jabari recorded 50 millimeters of rainfall, Shwan 36 millimeters, Kifri 8 millimeters, Maidan 3 millimeters, Kalar 1.6 millimeters, and Khanaqin 1.2 millimeters. No rainfall was recorded in central Kirkuk or Khurmatu.
In Halabja province, Tawela recorded 15.5 millimeters of rainfall, Biara 15 millimeters, Sirwan and Halabja city center 6 millimeters each, and Khurmal recorded 3.6 millimeters.
The agency said the data reflects the recent wave of unstable weather affecting the Kurdistan Region and urged citizens to follow official weather updates and safety instructions.
