A Kurdish pilgrim from Sulaimanyah province has died in Medina, Saudi Arabia, after being hospitalized for 11 days due to a stroke.

Kurdistan Hajj and Umrah spokesman Karwan Stuni said on Saturday that the pilgrim, identified as Sargul Abdullah Hama Karim, passed away this morning in a hospital in Medina. The 79-year-old suffered a stroke on November 16 and did not recover.

Stuni added that the deceased will be buried in Medina in accordance with religious procedures. He also noted that since the beginning of this year, 14 Kurdish pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia.
