A military agreement between the Damascus government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) is expected to be finalized before the end of this year, with mediation from the United States, according to a source quoted by Syrian state television on Thursday.

The source said Washington has intensified pressure on both Syrian authorities and the SDF to reach an agreement within the specified timeframe. The proposed deal reportedly includes the integration of approximately 90,000 SDF and internal security personnel into Syria’s Ministries of Defense and Interior.

Discussions also cover military command mechanisms, administrative structures, and the distribution of duties and authorities between the two sides. As part of the broader security restructuring, the Syrian army is reportedly considering the formation of specialized units, including an anti-terrorism brigade, with international support.

Negotiations are ongoing, and no official announcement has yet been made regarding the final terms of the agreement or its implementation timeline.
