Baghdad Municipality has announced a series of new fines targeting violations in public areas, including throwing garbage, blocking streets, and washing cars in non-designated locations.

According to the municipality, citizens who dump construction waste in unspecified areas will face fines ranging from two to five million dinars. Blocking public roads for any reason will be punishable by a one-million-dinar fine.

Washing cars on public streets will result in a 500,000-dinar fine, and the details of these violations will be forwarded to the General Directorate of Traffic for follow-up.

Meanwhile, Baghdad Municipality spokesman Oday Jundail told the Iraqi News Agency that many penalties have already been issued against individuals who encroach on roads and public squares in the capital.
