The Metro Center says that several social media pages impersonating the organization and its coordinator are spreading false news and misleading statements. The center stressed that neither oppression nor misrepresentation will silence its work.
In a statement issued on Thursday, October 2, 2025, the Metro Center for the Protection of Journalists’ Rights (MCJR) said:
"For several days now, an electronic army has been using social networks to spread lies funded by money stolen from the poor and mislead readers.”
The center noted that many of these pages are operated by party intelligence agencies, whose main purpose is to spread disinformation and defame critics.
The statement added:
"The Metro coordinator will not be the last target of these factories of lies run by politicians. But when the Metro Center decides to speak out, neither fear, nor oppression, nor misrepresentation will stop us.”
