SULAIMANI — A woman was badly injured
in a Turkish air strike on Monday (December 27) evening in a village in the
north of Duhok province, NRT reporter Wahid Sindi said.
The reporter stated the Turkish
bombardments struck near residents’ homes in a village in Batifa subdistrict in
Zakho, which borders Turkey.
The injured woman was taken to a
hospital in Zakho. Residents of two villages in the area were left without
electricity following the air strikes.
At about 12 last night, there were
reports of members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the area and the
Turkish military began carrying out air strikes in Batifa.
