The Nineveh Governor, Abdul Qadir Dakhil, announced on Tuesday that 20 plots of land will be allocated for the construction of solar power plants in various areas of the province.
He said the allocation covers the center, districts, and sub-districts of Nineveh, enabling the implementation of multiple solar energy projects across the region.
According to Dakhil, this project marks an important step toward supporting the government’s transition to sustainable energy sources. It aims not only to increase electricity supply for citizens in Nineveh but also to contribute to feeding Iraq’s national power grid.
