Erbil police said the shooting that occurred last night was the result of an old dispute between two friends, after the victim allegedly took some private photos of the suspect.
In a statement on Monday, Erbil police said they were alerted to a murder incident in the city’s market area, immediately arrived at the scene, and launched an investigation.
According to the initial investigation, the suspect confessed that the victim had allegedly hacked his mobile phone and taken some personal photos, which led him to shoot and kill his friend with a pistol.
Police confirmed that the suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and that the investigation is ongoing.
