The Deputy Spokesman of the Commission said Thursday that 21,404,291 citizens have received biometric cards. Out of this figure, the number of registered voters stands at 20,063,773, while 1,313,980 are special voters such as security forces. Additionally, 20,538 displaced citizens have been issued voting cards.
IHEC emphasized that the widespread adoption of biometric cards is an important step toward ensuring transparency and preventing fraud in the electoral process.
