After nearly two weeks of flooding in Chamchamal, donors began distributing aid to flood victims today, with a total of 13 billion dinars collected so far.
According to the head of the Chamchamal Emergency Commission, the first phase of compensation started today, Monday, December 22, 2025, and includes 639 households. The minimum compensation amount is 400,000 dinars, while the maximum reaches about five million dinars.
He added that the first phase of compensation will be distributed tomorrow in the areas of Takya, Shorsh and Aghjaler. The second phase will cover damaged vehicles, shops and businesses, following assessments that showed damage to 1,300 houses, 200 shops and businesses, and 560 vehicles.
The outgoing government has not allocated any relief budget for the flood victims, and all compensation distributed so far has been collected through donations.
