Ranya Maternity and Children Hospital has released new statistics showing that 3,700 children have visited the hospital in Raparen over the past 20 days due to the spread of seasonal influenza linked to climate changes.

Seasonal influenza is one of the most common viral infections globally, and the hospital confirmed that 3,700 children sought treatment in November alone. According to the hospital, several groups face higher risk of infection, including pregnant women, children aged six months to five years, elderly people over 65, individuals with chronic illnesses, and medical staff.

The statement advises citizens that the most effective preventive measure is vaccination against seasonal flu. It also stresses the importance of hygiene, including regular handwashing, covering the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, avoiding touching the mouth and eyes, drinking plenty of fluids, consuming fruits and vegetables, and seeking medical help if symptoms worsen.
