After more than two years and seven months of suspension, flights between Sulaymaniyah International Airport and Turkey have officially resumed. Turkish Airlines is the first carrier to restart operations, with other airlines expected to follow.

Rebaz Mohammed, Director of Sulaymaniyah Airport, said in a press conference that Turkish Airlines will operate four flights per week.
Dana Mohammed, the airport’s spokesperson, told NRT that a Turkish Airlines flight will depart from Istanbul at 10:30 p.m. and arrive in Sulaymaniyah at 1:10 a.m., before returning to Turkey at 3 p.m. the same day.

The Turkish Civil Aviation Authority decided in mid-June to allow the resumption of flights with Sulaymaniyah Airport after the long suspension.
