Flights between Sulaymaniyah International Airport and Turkey are set to resume tomorrow after more than two years and seven months of suspension.

According to NRT, a Turkish Airlines flight will depart from Istanbul at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, marking the first flight between the two destinations since the ban was lifted.

For over two years, planes from and to Sulaymaniyah Airport were not allowed to fly over Turkish airspace, and all flights between Turkish airports and Sulaymaniyah were suspended.

Turkish Airlines was the first Turkish carrier to announce readiness to resume flights, following the Turkish Civil Aviation Authority’s decision in mid-June to reopen its airspace to Sulaymaniyah Airport.
